This is a special information session for all Lower Lab parents who want to learn more about the after school chess program or the Lower Lab chess team. The directors of Chess NYC, our after school chess vendor, will give us an overview of the chess program, introduce their team of instructors, and explain the requirements for the chess team. This will be followed by a preview of upcoming tournament events, parents sharing their experiences, and Q&A.
Should you have any questions about this event or chess at Lower Lab, please email Veronica Chu and Li Xiao at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Date: Friday, October 17th
Place: Lower Lab 2nd Floor (Room TBD)
~ The meeting will start promptly at 5pm. Our chess kids will stay in their chess classes with adult supervision while the meeting takes place next door.

Fairway Community Partners Program – UPDATE
Thank you for the great response on the Fairway Community Partners Program! It sounds like many of us were at Fairway eager to use our cards to help support our school over the weekend. Please be advised that since this is a fairly new program, some of the cashiers at some of the locations are not familiar with how to ring up the card. We are the first uptown (east or west) school to participate as this program has only been previously used in the Kips Bay and Red Hook stores. If you find yourself in the situation where the cashier is unsure how to proceed, please have the cashier find a supervisor or manager to help them out on how to use the card. We have confirmed that several families were able to pleasantly and quickly resolve any unfamiliarity on the cashier’s part at the 86th, Harlem and UWS stores!
Again if you do not receive your card or would like additional cards for family members, please contact Stacy Bess and she will assist you.
