4th Grade Practice Tasks 1/19/19 to 1/26/19

Dear 4th Grade Families,

Here are the practice tasks for this upcoming week.

Note Reading – Please review all the notes we have learned on the D and A strings.  I suggest practice notating these notes on the staff.  In addition, practice reading and playing these notes.  Your flash cards will help immensely with this.  Essential Elements exercises #10 – 16 on pages six through eight I think are a great resource to review the notes on the D string.  In addition, exercises #23 to 31 on pages 10 and 11.

Olympic Fanfare Measures 35 to the end.  Please listen to the recording I provided to get the tune in your head.  https://www.jwpepper.com/Olympic-Fanfare/10062532.item#/submit.  Please clap out the rhythm, while saying the rhythmic syllables as we do in class.  Then practice the rhythms notated on open D or A string.  Next add the notes.  Remember slow and steady learns the piece the fastest.  If you practice at a slow tempo and gradually increase the tempo you will see how fast you learn the notes.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me from 8:00 to 8:15 on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning.  Enjoy the three day weekend.

All the best,

Ms. Waldman
