General PTA Meeting on March 15th. Expedited Election for 2nd Grade Rep

There will be a General PTA meeting on Friday, March 15th immediately following drop off in the cafeteria.  All are welcome to attend.  There will be an auction meeting immediately following the PTA meeting.

At this meeting, there will be an expedited election for a 2nd Grade Representative.  Nominations will be taken from the floor.  All parents of 2nd Grade students are eligible to run.  This position is for the remainder of the school year.

We will also be voting on an amendment to our bylaws, proposed at the last meeting.  The amendment is as follows:

Current Bylaw (relevant portion): “The nominating committee will also be responsible for…

  •  ensuring that an opportunity is provided to all members allowing for nominations (this includes self-nomination) to be taken from the floor and then officially closed during the June meeting;

Proposed Amendment:

  1. Strike “June” and replace with “April.”
  2. Add the following additional bullet:
  • soliciting statements from the candidates and distributing said statements no less than ten (10) days prior to the election date.
