Math Testing will begin tomorrow! Please Read Important Info Below

Dear Lower Lab Families,
A quick reminder that April 2/3 and May 1/2 are our scheduled standardized testing dates for grades 3-5.

We need the halls and stairwells to be clear of noise and movement during the days of the test. This means NO extra meetings or lingering about during these important days. Unless you have specific business in the building via an appointment we request you not coming into the building.

If you are going to drop your child off at the door in the morning. Give them a big hug a positive and calm statement and send them in with confidence! They got this! They are prepared. A big thumbs up and hug from you is all they need.

If you are scheduled to work lunch and recess on these days check as the timeline of recess has changed for upper grades.

Thanks for your support and see below for more tips on preparing for the test!

On Test Day

Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast

Many teachers report that students who don’t do well on tests haven’t gotten enough sleep, and haven’t eaten breakfast and a glass of water on the morning of the test. Doing both of these things will ensure that your child is working at full capacity.

Make sure your child feels comfortable.

Wear comfortable clothing. if they get chilly send them with a sweater or if they get overheated layers will help. Do not pick this day to wear a new pair of shoes.

Remain positive

Staying calm will help your child stay calm. If she gets nervous about the test or is likely to experience anxiety during the test, help her practice some relaxation techniques that she can try once she’s taking the test.
