Inside Broadway Lottery will occur Monday. Please see the info below if you have sent in a submission.

Dear Grades 3-5 Families,

We have received 41 submissions and can take only 32 students – This is two more than was originally assigned… We will definitely need to do a lottery.

If you are selected you must be able to participate for the entire 23 days and the show. This means no vacations and missed sessions. Please do not commit to this program knowing that you have a trip, chess tournaments, or other afterschool commitments on one of the two days. (Thursday and Friday)

Mr. B is very serious about missed classes and will ask the alternate to take over should a student miss sessions.

Here are the dates:

Class Dates: 1/30 1/31, 2/7, 2/13, 2/27, 2/28, 3/6, 3/12, 3/13, 3/19, 3/20, 3/26, 3/27, 4/2, 4/3, 4/23, 4/24, 4/30, 5/1, 5/7, 5/8, 5/14, 5/21, Show 5/22

Gina will email lottery winners Monday once the lottery has been pulled.

Getting to Know Me

Inside Broadway is looking for 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders who love to sing, dance, and act! Our returning After School Theatre Program is part of a CASA (Cultural After-School Adventure)

Grant funded by the NYC Council.

Students involved in this workshop will work with Inside Broadway theatre professionals learning the skills that are required to perform in a show. Students need not have any prior experience in theatre arts to participate. We are looking for dedicated participants who are willing to make a commitment to this project.

23 Class “Building a Musical” program requires a FULL commitment.

Lower Lab’s Broadway Adventure will meet 2 times a week from

2:35-4:00 PM Thursdays

2:35-4:00 Fridays

Thursdays and Fridays Beginning January 30th – May 22nd  (Show Date)

May 22nd, 2019 is the date of our Final performance during the school day – at approx. 1:15 PM.

(There is no afterschool for Inside Broadway that day)

Class Dates: 1/30 1/31, 2/7, 2/13, 2/27, 2/28, 3/6, 3/12, 3/13, 3/19, 3/20, 3/26, 3/27, 4/2, 4/3, 4/23, 4/24, 4/30, 5/1, 5/7, 5/8, 5/14, 5/21, Show 5/22

We have 30 openings for this program. Depending on the response, a lottery for the slots may be required. Once children have been accepted into the program, Our Inside Broadway Teaching Artist will hold mini auditions for speaking parts within the musical.

During the program, children will have the opportunity to write a storyline for their review, play-supporting roles, sing in the chorus, as well as create a backdrop/setting for the musical and act as stage-managers if needed.

We are happy to report that “Mr. B” will return as one of our Inside Broadway Teaching Artists and supervise the classes. He is a highly trained professional who has a theatrical background and a teaching degree.

Please backpack for hardcopy flyer and the important tear-off slip that will need to be returned to the Main Office in care of Gina before December 9th, 2019.

Please do not send an email about participation requests – these notices will be backpacked home either today or Monday when we return from our Thanksgiving Break –

Should there be a need for a lottery…The lottery will be pulled 12/16 giving you enough time to plan for spring afterschool accordingly.
